Why did you become a writer?

Caroline became a writer in 2012 after suffering from mental ill health. After losing her football career, she decided to write her first book - A Guide To Positive Mental Health, to provide support to footballers who was or are experiencing the same. John had been writing comedy sketches for some time and in 2022 he teamed up with long time friend Caroline to write a book together.

Where do you get your ideas?

The authors get their ideas from their love of sport.

 

Do you accept story ideas?

No, we don't. We really have enough story ideas of our own. We believe in thinking up our own ideas. We really have enough. 

 

Will you read my manuscript and tell me what you think?

No. If we did that for one person, we would feel like we'd have to do it for a great many people. There's another reason, and that's a legal one. Any writer who has deep pockets has been sued for plagiarism from time-to-time. For everyone who publishes best-selling books, somebody wants to think, 'Oh, they got that idea from me' and so it's just much easier and much safer to say we never read that book at all.

I need an agent/publisher, can you tell me the name of a good one?

As well as there being some legal problems with this, the choice of an agent or publisher depends upon your style of writing. There are some good reference books—Literary Market Place  and  Writer's Market—and check to see if your state has a writer's association.

Sorry, but Caroline and John doesn't provide individualised writing tips.

Do you teach any courses or seminars?

Neither Caroline or John teach any writing classes and doesn't have any immediate plans to do so.
